Q. WHERE ARE YOU LOCATED?
A. We are still looking for the purrfect location. Like us on Facebook or follow us on Instagram @celerycitycatcafe for the most up to date information.
Q. WHAT IS A CAT CAFE?
A. A cat cafe is a place to hang out with adoptable cats! If you fall in love with one of our residents you can adopt it and take it home with you!
Q. WHY DO WE NEED A CAT CAFE?
A. Some cats don’t do well in the shelter because they are scared and/or stressed. They can stop eating or may not appear to be friendly because their real personalities don’t show in these types of situations. Cat cafes are also great for people who can’t own a cat right now but would like to spend time with one!
Q. CAN I BRING FOOD/DRINKS INTO THE CAT AREA?
A. Yes, food and drink are available for purchase in the cafe.
Q. CAN I BRING MY CAT(S) TO THE CAT CAFE?
A. No. Bringing in cats from outside would not only be stressful for our cats, but would also be very stressful for your cat (and us!).
Q. WHERE DO YOU GET THE CATS THAT ARE IN THE CAFE?
A. Celery City Cat Cafe’s mission is to help cats from local shelters, we are currently partnered with Seminole County Animal Shelter.
Q. I’M NO LONGER ABLE TO KEEP MY CAT. CAN YOU TAKE IT?
A. No, we are not a rescue and we do not take in cats directly. Our mission is to help at-risk cats at local government shelters, and aren’t set up to intake cats on our own.
Q. DO THE CATS LIVE AT CELERY CITY CAT CAFE?
A. Until they are adopted, yes! The cat cafe is foster space for shelter kitties, so this is their home until they find their family. If anyone gets sick or is stressed, we’ll get them into a foster home until they’re adopted.
Q. DO I NEED TO MAKE A RESERVATION?
A. It’s not required but we highly recommend it. Walk-in reservations are welcome as space permits. An entry-fee is required for all guests.
Q. HOW MANY PEOPLE/CATS ARE ALLOWED IN THE CAFE AT ONE TIME?
A. We allow up to 12 people in the per hour, to minimize stress, and give potential adopters and other visitors the opportunity for quality time with the cats.
Q. WHAT IF I COME INTO THE CAFE AND ALL THE CATS ARE SLEEPING?
A. Cats sleep a lot!! While we understand that visitors hope to spend time with playful cats, it’s important for the health of our cats that they be allowed to sleep when they need it. If you’d like to visit when they are more playful, we recommend that you try to visit before 1PM or after 5PM.
Q. ARE CHILDREN ALLOWED TO VISIT THE CATS?
A. Yes! However, we are still working on our policy for children in the cafe. We want to ensure a great experience for kids and the cats!
Q. CAN I VOLUNTEER AT THE CAT CAFE?
A. Yes! You can become a volunteer by emailing us at firstname.lastname@example.org. We are also always looking for volunteers to help us at events, to foster, etc…There is something for everyone!
